  • Potato skin not smooth

Tipped over my first bucket of RDOY:

Not sure how much it weighs. No idea what the white flecks on the skin are either.

    Any thoughts.

    You may have swollen lenticels

... or rather your potatoes may have swollen lenticels - which isn't really anything to worry about

Though that usually occurs when the weather is overly wet - so I could be mistaken...
Look anything like these delightful images?

The white flecks are nothing to worry about - the compost does look very wet.

The potatoes were grown in buckets and left outside. We had recently had a heavy rainfall, hence the wet compost. I have been watering daily (because I read on here we should aim to keep the compost moist to ensure the potatoes don't dry up). I'll cut back on watering (partly because the last few days have been wet) to alternate days or similar.

Well I weighed up the pots - 1.5kg

After some deliberation, we decided to roast the potatoes. Very delicious and the flavour is unlike anything I've had from a red potato from the supermarkets.
