    To start here is a fuzzy wuzzy bumble on the winter honeysuckle which smells fantastic at the moment.

        Strange you should say that. My youngest over half term asked me what my bees are called Trying to explain to a 4 year old that I am not going to name my bees - bless her!

                I think it's too big to be a small scissor bee - from what I've read, they like to nest in woodworm holes, so must be very tiny. Your picture looks more like this to me - one of the yellow footed solitary bees - this one is local to East Anglia

                  Oo er. Yes that is exactly what it is. I am Brecklands so the location spot on. It is scary how much turns up in this area. They could have given it a nicer name though

                    I didn't take pics but have seen one worker bee and one bumble.

                    I will add pic from couple of yrs ago taken in GH of some sort of bee.

                      Last year I provided several ‘Des Res’ for the Bees and friends. Today I was using the Shredder for the first time this year and look what I found. Mason Bees I think.
