Having been up to our new allotment site today I noticed that at the edge of the hole that has been dug (about 2ft square) for the water pipe has what looks like honey bees entering through tunnels about 6 inches down. Has anyone any advice about these bees. Eventually we will have to fill the hole in, and I suppose some people on site might be concerned about their presence. I am more concerned about what we should do to ensure they survive.
Ironically the majority of the commitee (of which I am a member), voted not to let bees be kept on site. As my son said, it looks as if the bees have other ideas. I would love to keep bees, and they are right on the corner of my plot! However I can see they might pose a problem right by the water tap.
