No mate, you will hang out the washing
washing machines are too complex for men to work
and when I do the washing it's always wrong
northepaul
I have seen some people put them on their flat roofs when they don't have any room? Could be a thought??!!
Just found out that a neighbour use to keep bees a few years ago he received complaints from
other neighbours and then the council asked him to remove the bees
It's not a suitable area to keep bees

My allotment site won't allow me to keep bees so I approached a few farmers. Second one I asked was more than happy to help.
but it's frequented by teenagers with nothing better to do and lots of large rocks .
Another plot holder wants to keep chickens and has been told no
I've asked almost all of my fellow plot holders and non of them have any objections to me keeping bees .Last edited by green thing; 23-11-2011, 10:17 PM.

Hi greenthing. I am chairman of the Bognor allotts ascosiation and we have four separate site`s . Despite being chairman at the time of getting my first hive and placing it on my plot site supervisor throws toys from pram as he classed them as livestock. Oxford dictionary definition pollenating insect and ferrall. I then speak to all plot holders and take matter to the A.G.M. on the understanding my bees will be removed within 24hrs if vote goes against me. Only person to object site super. Plot Holders are now moaning about not enough hives because fruit crops have more than doubled since the extra bees have been there

We have no allotments in the area just council garden plots.
the council use the garden plot title as an excuse to get around
the allotment act
We don't have a garden just a back yard 4m x 4m the only restriction I have is the OH .
I will buy her a bee suit so she can peg out the washing
We have just livestock farms in the area and farmers have no need or interest in bees
other than trying to rent out disused field for extortionate amount of cash.
I think it's time for another letter to the councillor

happy gardenerThey cant get around the allotment act, if 6 or more people request ALOTTMENT`S in an area the are duty bound to supply them by law all part of the land enclosure`s act.
the local swarm catcher/bee keeper is allowed to have bees on a garden plot site (allotment) but I'm not ?
they are looking into changing the policy ?

Hi greenthing true but dont let them get away with it keep on there case. As to the swarm catcher/ beekeeper there is nothing to look in to by allowing him they have set the precedent. you cant have one rule for one andanother for some body else you must be paying the same rent per rod as him

He has now taken the bees off site due to access issues he wanted steps and a path putting in
to gain access to his bees
I've also found out today that the people who attended the beekeeping course I attended will be getting free bees and a hive who live in the borough and
given that I live in the neighbouring borough I'm not be eligible .
