It just says wildflower seeds - so its a surprise! Matt & I posted about the same offer but I think he's found marigolds as well (not the rubber gloves!)

I have enough marigolds to stock the gardens of the whole of my street. I'm looking forward to transplanting them. Not. Thanks VC.

Received my free seeds this morning. Contents listed as Wild Marjoram, Field Poppy, Oxeye Daisy, Red Campion, Selfheal, Wild Carrot, Birdsfoot Trefoil, Cornflower and Wild Red Clover.

In exchannge FoE have requested I sign their petition for a National Bee Action Plan at Friends of the Earth: Sign The Bee Cause petition : All bee actions : The Bee Cause which I am more than happy to do.

Apparently all 10,000 packs were claimed within the first 24 hours, so thank you for the heads up.

        Off to sow them now.

I got mine the other day too. I just want to check - are any of the above plants potentially invasive, and will having wild carrot affect my tame carrots in any way?

Like give them bad habits, lead them astray etc....

Still waiting for mine - or maybe I won't get them... I don't remember signing the petition.

Mine came this morning. I don't think you had to sign the petition to get them.

Yes, exactly. The last thing I want is them hanging about round the back of the greenhouse, smoking.

I was more thinking about attracting carrot fly or cross pollinating them if I wanted to let some seed.

I thought carrot fly came along when the cow parsley was out. Maybe I was dreaming that one.

Even though the seeds were gone I've signed the petition, a good cause I think.
I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!

Mine arrived this a.m. Not sure about letting oxeye daisy get a grip in my patch -may weed it out if it grows, but the other seeds sound good. Had a google and most of them need alternating light and dark to germinate, so I'll just scatter them on the surface. (How can a seed TELL?)
