I did post this thread on 'the veg plot' but havent had any replies so I'm hoping all you bee experts will be able to help.
We have a wooden bench on our patio held together by brass screws. One of the screws has come out leaving an open hole. At the weekend I observed a small bee coming and going several times in and out of the hole. I have observed him over several days now so it appears he has set up home inside the bench.
He appears to be alone, he is small and quite dark in colour. He has a very rounded bottom which is bright yellow, he doesnt appear to have a stinger.
When anyone sits his side of the bench he tends to 'buzz' them quite agressively but as soon as you move he's ok again.
