excited I can help bees but need your help

Hey everyone

Ive just been lent a massive bit of land which is conveniently next door. He said I can do what I want with it as long as I keep it clear and remove all the crap in it so because I cant keep bees in my garden ( I wanted a artificial hive) because of the clumsy kids and dog I thought Im going to use all this land for bees have it as natural as possible full of flowers etc etc but I need some help. Ive bought some seeds but need alot more, so I was wondering if people would like to send some to help the project or swap for some veg ones I have every little would help.

Im unsure of how to go about this so admin could remove if they want but if you want my address inbox me, Im not really bothered who sees it but just took some advice from another member.

Im so excited as Ive only seen 3 this year and I live in kind of a country area and would love to see more xxx

Plant trees maybe not flowers. Although phacelia is good, there's lots of shruby things that are fab too.

What is the land like at the moment and how big an area? Got any pictures?

How big is massive? How many hives are you going to have? Have you kept bees before?

I've only just started planting stuff which are mainly herbs at the moment, but I've already started to notice more insects coming in and out of the garden. So far I've noticed Hover Flies, a Honey Bee and we've got about 2-4 Bumble Bee's visiting on a daily basis which is great as I've only just started.

This is the garden Im working on, ignore the a thing circled thats one of the neighbors house the thing took me to. doesnt look to bad from a height but its a right mess and this pic if off 10 year ago!

Ive never kept bees, Im gonna secure a wicker basket to the wall and hopefully they will make that their home if not and they just visit to feed thats fine with me. Im not looking to keep them as such Im just gonna do the land then pop in every so many month and just remove rubbish.

But what I am worried about is if a wasp collony decides to take up residence there, Ive already been stung twice in a very delicate area

Do you know what the trees are that are growing there now? Or what other plants are there?
I have lots of bees in the garden even though I no longer keep honeybees. They like bramble, ivy, cotoneaster, in fact anything with an open blossom so that they can access the pollen easily.
If you have lots of tree cover then you need to grow flowers that don't mind shade.

Well most of the trees Im going to take down, there is 3 stunning proper trees with flowers on etc Ill be keeping them in. The others seem to be weed type trees if you know what I mean... When they have been cut down there has been hollow holes right through Ill get some pics of the nice trees if I can get at them tomorrow.

one was a elder and was so pretty but the lad wanted it gone so he could get a fence up as its all open to public. There is 2 more inside which will be kept and one just outside my gate. Unsure of the other ones though.

I love the dog rose I pick from it every year think Ill dig it out and put it in my garden

Ill get pics of other stuff and you can all tell me what to keep etc x

But you don't just need flowers, although they are important.

Chopping down? Not sure what you mean by this. I've not been chopping anything down? Haha
