    Juniker, funnily enough I have just posted the exact same query. My buddliea is a yellow globosa and i found some very useful info on bumblebeeconservation.org site. It could just be a natural occurrence, where drones die off at the end of their usefulness.

      I think the buddleja is a coincidence: unless it's been sprayed with something.
