Where do we start ??

We would love to have a hive on our plot but have no idea where to begin.
Can anyone give us some pointers please? Would anyone put a hive on our land for the rent of a few jars of the golden stuff for example?

We are located in south norfolk.

First you need to be sure that you are allowed to have bees on your site - they're not allowed on some allotments.
Second, contact your local Beekeeping Association and ask them if anyone would like to site a hive there. Honey is the usual rent!!

Sounds good ! There wont be a problem with siting a hive as the plot is ours not an allotment.

Have a look around ... British Beekeepers Association (BBKA) ... it may be that the Suffolk branch is nearer to you than the main Norfolk one in Cawstone

Awww that's good. We used to keep bees in the garden and I loved seeing them around.
Go along to your local beekeeping assocation and make yourslef known. Even if you're not actually "owning" the hives, it good to understand what the bees are up to - who knows, you may end up with your own hives anyway

I agree with everything previously said, just give yourself time to do jobs in the garden because once you have bees you will be spending hours watching them coming and going - nothing else gets done.
