bee on the plot

Hi
I've almost been given permission to keep bee on the plot
After four years of asking looks like the council will finally be getting around to it
Sometime after may.
I was thinking putting the bees in the top corner of the plot
Away from everyone and everything, making an enclosed area
But i'm not sure size of area would be needed for one or possibly more
Hives later on .
I have about 12meters of 6ft solid fencing and was thinking about running another
Fence parallel
What would be the minimum area per hive.
And would it be a good time to start may/june..

Contact your local Beekeeping Association, they will be able to give you all the advice you need.

You can use just mesh fencing to make them fly up.
Have you got a hive/had any training?

We looked into keeping peas a few years ago and eventually decided against it. However in our investigations we did come to the conclusion that it's not something to be taken lightly. I feel it's best to go on a course, probably with your local bee society so that you know what you're doing and have the support network behind you if you need it.

Been on two bee keeping courses
also helped out with one of my customers who kept bees on her farm
She had the land to keep them on
She didn't have any experience about keeping bees on a small plot of land
Also been given a few hive loads of frames
Will start with one at first

Still waiting for my new tenancy agreement
And waiting to see what sort of restrictions are going to be applied
About keeping livestock on the plot.

If the tenancy not too restrictive and I'm able to keep bees l will
be joining the local BBKA not much point buying any equipment
Until I get it in writing.
