  • Solitary Bee hive

    Hi,
I have been given a solitary bee hive. I am wanting to put it down my allotment. The thing is on my plot I already have a wild bees nest in a big tree at the top of my plot.
I was wondering is it going to be ok to put my new hive down there or is there a chance that the wild bees could try and move into it?
The bees have swarmed twice this year. I missed the first one as they disappeared somewhere else. Then I was at the plot when they swarmed back into a tree(very impressive sight).
Also which direction is going to be the best way to position the hive?
    Thanks

solitary bees are different to honey bees and can coexist happily. they don't swarm as they live a solitary lifestyle & are actually better pollinators due to the fact they usually are active earlier in the year and will fly in adverse weather conditions.red mason bees are used commercially to pollinate fruit trees.
