    Lovely, Maaf

I got my first colony of bees on 15th June, when a swarm swirled into the garden and into my hive. Call me patient - I've had the hive since May 2015, just waiting for this day
    Location - Leicestershire - Chisit-land
    Endless wonder.

        Good luck Mothhawk.

They are a fascinating hobby. Beware: they are addictive.

I suggest you join your local beekeeping Association if not a member: they can offer lots of help.

(If you do want any, PM me)

Lovely, lovely photos, Madasaplank. Is that a top bar hive?

            Congratulations too, mothhawk.

              Snoop P

It's a self built 5 frame jumbo Langstroth nuc. Made from 50mm Celotex (s/h). Total cost £2 - paint and glue and aluminium foil tape. Frame runners from a recycled exhaust heat shield fallen in the road.

              I am mean...

              Edit

Picture of my Top bar hive..

Thanks, Mike. Stands.......My name is Mothhawk and I am an addict....

Joined the local BKA 2 years ago, did their basic course, loved playing with their bees, now I'm going to love playing with my own. And to make life even better, 3 days after the bees came, I had the offer of the most beautiful apiary site on a mixed farm that is very much dedicated to preserving and enhancing wildlife. I'm a very lucky MH.
