  • Blackbirds nesting......

in some Ivy. It's my neighbours Ivy and she keeps trimming it back but I like to let it grow quite freely on my side of the fence and as if to reward me I've seen a pair of Blackbirds building a nest in it today !!!!

    Made my day!

Nestled somewhere in the Cambridgeshire Fens. Good soil, strong winds and 4 Giant Puffballs!

how lovely peanut! i've some ivy but not enough for anything to nest in it! so I hope you enjoy!

My neighbour 2 doors up has a bird box on the front of his house, and I noticed a birdie (not sure what kind) going in and out! lovely to see isn't it!

Ours (known in the family as Wendy) is nesting this year in our evergreen honeysuckle. It's nicely close to the back door for scraps (she's VERY tame) and not too far from the pond (she like a tadpole or two to supplement her diet!)

I wish my Blackbirds and Robins were tamer......they only have to see me and they run off! Don't they realise it's me that puts that food out!!!!

I found a load of Vineweavil grubs in a pot today and duly put them all in a pot on the birdtable along with a few other nasties.....needless to say they didn't last long!!!!

Blackbirds are very fond of raisins and fresh grapes (but cut them in half so the babies don't choke)
