  • Wild flower meadow

Being relatively new to this game, could someone tell me the best way to deal with a wildflower "bit" in a garden, when to cut it etc.

It depends a bit what kinds of wild flowers. We have one with spring/early summer flowers so it's cut at the end of July and again about October. The rest of the year it looks a sorry mess but when the flowers are at their best in June it's gorgeous. By the way, in case you think I have a small estate, it's about 3 paces across and four down!

Thanks for that, I only want to plant around the 4 small fruit trees so the area is about the same size as yours. I am not overly worried about the mess when not in flower as I intend to hide it behind a rustic screen. Thanks again

        Hi
Our wildflower bed has poppies and cosmos in as well, so carries on until the frosts; so we leave it to self sow and chop it about November time.
