  • I am going to host some frogs soon !!

Imagine how excited (and LuCkY) I am : I've found some tadpoles!
and in the most unusual place...I couldn't believe it

In a small shop selling ...car parts?... a little tank full of tadpoles, with a sign FREE FOR THE KIDDIES!
Of course he filled up my jar, even I'm no kid at all, with about twenty of them, and now they are in a tiny pond in the shady corner of my garden... I live in London so when it comes to wildlife... anything worth a try
I am just dreaming that it could grow into a nice population of frogs invading all the gardens aroundah ah I wish

    Oh that's lovely!

I'm going to get round to digging a pond this year. I do get frogs in the garden but a pond would attract so much more.
Nestled somewhere in the Cambridgeshire Fens. Good soil, strong winds and 4 Giant Puffballs!
Always aim for the best result possible not the best possible result

I dug a pond a couple of weeks ago, no signs of life yet (apart from flies!), I need to get some oxygenating and shading plants in.

Good luck with yours maria, and you peanut.

i have 3 frogs in my pond, but no tadpoles.. they just don't seem to be in the mood for some reason.. been joking getting out there with some frog barry white and trying to create:a romatic atmoshere but i suspect they just arrived a bit too late for spawning this year, or maybe are too young? saw my first damsel fly of the year yesterday and have lots of miscellaneous nymphs swimming around.. just hope they're not all mozzies
              I have a dream:
a dream that, one day, chickens can cross roads without having their motives questioned.

Here is some pics...please don't laugh at the ridiculous size of my pond !!
I just thought it will be the least I can do, and I'm sure it will be good for wildlife, even if it's not big....

Btw, does anyone now what kind of frogs will come out of these ?

We were sat in the conservatory last night and counted 25 frogs on our lawn, we have quite a large pond which was at the house when we moved in we also have about 50 fish - we have seen Newts as well.

Ahhhhhh the fun game of mind the Frog/Toad as you walk round the garden on a damp evening, got a pond out the back and i always marvel at how our Frogs/Toad manage to squeeze themselves into such small places.
