No idea if this is correct, but I heard somewhere that the general rule of thumb is that if a snake has round pupils it’s safe, and if the are vertical then give them space.
Thing is....how can you check out their eyes when you are running away?

Clearly states one of the venomous ones has round eyes, so best thing is to take no risks.

Had a walk along a beach near us before the rain came in, disturbed this Heron fishing for shrimps and crabs.

Good year for Echium vulgare (viper's bugloss)
Hope this counts as wild, since although they are in our garden we don't plant them. We simply choose the ones not to pull up.

Been messing about with my little pond , foggy showed face and the newts appeared. Here is one of my newt family.

I think this may be a chaffinch. Flaunting itself on our lawn, saying photograph me! So I did.

I was just planting some parsley and gently tapped out the bottom of this pot without looking. Ewwwww.

Taken the other day on a walk down to the light house

Two nice, fat, juicy slugs. The birds would love them.

I just put sluggy pots in the chicken run for a minute or two.
The hens do a quick job once the cockerel has checked them out.
