Ladybirds today,eating aphids on my dahlias

A shield bug lookalike called Lygus pratensis

Any idea what this is. Saw it on a chilli plant.

That's a baby ladybird. Ugly things aren't they!

I would go for ladybird lava too.
I will add that they are useful insects especially when they are young and growing.
They get shorter and stick to the leaf for a while when they pupate.

Spotted this Red Admiral on the allotment yesterday

Goldfinches cane and squabbled for a while before feeding. It is a bit near to the nesting season.
There is usually only one pair once they have nested.

Had four foxes in the garden tonight. I see them most days but usually only one. Think it was two parents and two cubs. Bit late though to get a photo as was getting dim.
