          • On the walk this morning there was lovely red squirrel with a blonde bushy end to its tail. Just sat watching us before scampering off.
Then a bird kept flying near and landed on the footpath.
had to Google what it looked like, not my picture but google says its a crested lark.

            • Woodlice love strawberries. Who knew.

They've been busily munching through mine and my neighbours fruit. Good thing that I don't mind sharing (within limits)

                  • Great pics Dannyk

Looking on here could it be vapourer? Can't say I've even heard of it let alone seen one.

                    • Yes, a vapourer. I had some on my raspberry leaves last year. it belongs to the tussock moth family ('cos they all have tussocks on their backs), which I think is a much prettier name.

Thanks the caterpillar was taken with iPhone but it was difficult to get decent shot.

Woodpecker was with 100/300mm on DSLR usually they fly off before I can get the camerabut this time I was lucky. They are visiting several times a day now.

                          • Seems to be quite alot around at the moment. My mum has had one with a chick to feed too. I've had them on my fence posts. I love seeing them, can never get a photo or video though.

                            • A pretty little dove (I think) that has started hanging out on the allotments. I hope it can survive, people are putting water and birdseed out for it as it doesn't seem very nature savvy. But no ring that I could see.
