First cuckoo / swallow 2021

We have a dozen Swallows hunting insects over the burn at the side of the village.

I havnt seen ours yet.

Just heard a cuckoo down the bottom of the valley. I heard it earlier this morning but by the time I'd registered it, it had stopped and I thought I was imagining it. But no, it's definitely back.

Later than last year, maybe? Certainly, the blackbirds started up later this year. So much later I thought we didn't have any in the valley.

Heard our cuckoo again today on our walk.

Saw 2 swallows the other day, talking to neighbour she mentioned not seeing many this yr other than some nesting in other neighbours shed.

We heard ours yesterday...looked up , and they were chattering away on the telephone wire!
