Finally managed to snap the little yellow rascal (and I dont mean cowardly) but still quite far away. For reference, its the size of a Wagtail. I suspect it may be the male of the Yellow Wagtail, as there is another bird, almost identical less the colouring, the other one is plain grey, and it is common knowledge that the male is more attractive than the female!!
    As always, help happily received.

      To you I say this:

Three species are poly- or paraphyletic in the present taxonomical arrangement and either subspecies need to be reassigned and/or species split up. The Blue-headed Wagtail (AKA Yellow Wagtail and many other names), especially, has always been a taxonomical nightmare with over a dozen currently accepted subspecies and many more invalid ones.

I almost put in my previous post that I am finding it a taxonomical nightmare trying to identify its subspecies.
Ho hum, another photo of a different one tomorrow I reckon.

Right, this one is about the size of a sparrow, and I know the photo doesnt really show it that well, but its a sort of olive green colour on its back and wings, and grey on its breast. Quite a fan type tail so any experts amongs you (SBP, Lynda, TS) should pin it down in a heartbeat.
When I said I couldnt identify one, I meant I couldnt identify any of them, but I promise I will try harder!
The shrikey thing has refused to show its face since its appearance before, clearly not the sort to seek publicity but I do top up my tan for an hour every afternoon in the hope of getting a better pic.
