  • Water!

Just a reminder that if you are experiencing high temperatures to leave water out for the birds, but also on the ground for hedgehogs etc.
We have previously seen butterflies standing on a pebble drinking from our birdbath…
I was just watching a female blackbird standing in the shade panting

We need to do our part!

I use a terracotta plantpot base on the paving, in the shade. As the water evaporates from the terracotta it helps to keep the water a bit cooler. I have to refill it most days after the blackbird splashes half the water out having a bath!

    Endless wonder.

I have a bird bath and a smaller one at ground level for insects, bees and butterflies.
I fill it with fresh water on a daily basis.
Love watching the birds splashing about.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.
