Big scare - my girls

Put my ear on the side of the hive and a gave a sharp knock to the hive..........
I could hear 'the hum' of MY GIRLS (see HF skipping round her plot)

If you give a sharp rap to the side of the hive the you can hear a hum that rises in volume and dies quickly is a good sign that all is well.

We still have a way to go yet.

A question for our bee keepers...do you have a recipe for fondant?

I made some the other week- you a meant to be able to keep it in the fridge, but it has gone sugary, with a liquid collecting in the corners of the storage bag?

I'm sure that there is some receipe on the web - but I never really had to feed in winter.
