  • found a strange frozen thing

while I was pulling up the raised beds the other day for expansion.
Under one of them was what looked like a slimy frozen fish. I didn't want to look too closely but it may have been a half grown tadpole frog thing.
We don't have a pond but next door have a big one. We do get big frogs hiding in the veg beds sometimes.

Could it have come from next door even with no legs? Could a bird have pinched it and dropped it?

It was gross, but the chooks enjoyed it

    Mystery!

Sounds like a young frog with the legs eaten off. A bird may well have started to snack on it from next door's pond.

OOH I wish you had taken a pic so we could all see it. We have a frog that lives underneath our shed, he has only got one leg and has had attempted assaults by birds........he is a lucky chap. How long do frogs live for?

8 years apparently....that's if they're not eaten first!

Definitely sounds like a newt. No wonder they are endangered!

It was dark green (but slimy frozen) sort of speckledy, with no tail, and no real fins either. But defo a fish type face.

But it didn't look like a fish.

              Weird
