  • Hunting

Just had the hunters in the field behind ours- loads of dogs running about and horns tooting and a few shots

Rushed out to check on the chooks to find Au Vin quivering at the back of the coop- and Paxo squashed in with the brood hens.

Bet if the dogs saw them they'd be over the fence in no time

So..they're locked away until it goes quiet.

Wonder if they've spotted the deer - or maybe the foxes- although I expect they are tucked away sleeping now????

Loads of vans about....something has got the hunters excited.

      To be sure!

Have to say I'm more concerned in the afternoon once they've had a few drinks

There was a big pheasant shoot on here a couple of weeks ago and the smart ones were hiding in our garden. Not that you get too many smart pheasants

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

Where we stay in La Caunil, Michele the neighbour hunts boar, (cochon are feral pigs, Sanglier are proper black beasts). We were driving back up the mountain and one popped onto the road, ran along it for a few hundred yards and then ran down into the trees.

The woods are full of them

Clever birds good on them!! I just have to say this, I do not like hunting at all! I think it is cruel! Each and every animal and living thing has its own narural enemys, no need to torture the poor things as well!

I think the main hunting season finishes here on the 28th thank goodness.
Problem is that it does continue but only for certain things...I need to check it out!
