  • first butterfly

My daughter and I spotted our first butterfly of the year this morning.
It was a beautiful yellow one.
    Made me feel very cheerful!

I'm looking forward to seeing butterflies (except the cabbage white).

We too had a beautiful yellow butterfly the other day, the bees and hoverfiles have started as well.

I have put out some nectar out because there isn't much for them at this time of the year.

What are you putting out for them?

I make a solution of 4 parts water to 1 part granulated sugar but I add to that any old rotting fruit. For this one, I happened to have an old banana and an old orange - I keep them for the animals/insects/birds, honest

I found <<THIS SITE>> very helpful but I'm sure ther are loads of others.
