  • What's this in my hedge?

    Just been looking at our native hedge, planted about 3 years ago, when I spotted this on the dog rose. It looks like some sort of insect nest, its about 3-4cm in diameter, anyone ID it?

    I think it's an old "robin's pincushion", a type of gall, inhabited by tiny parasitic wasps: Galls Page 1
