I'm a member of Leicestershire & Rutland Wildlife trust, they also have a Face book page.

I have visited a few of there Nature reserves listed in the handbook and on 1 smaller reserve saw my 1st ever grass snake, i mentioned it on the discussion board on the Face book site and one of the top bod's excitedly e-mailed me for further info on my siting.

I felt very important for about 10 mins.

Hi I've just joined the Hertfordshire Wildlife Trust. They look after various sites close to me so I thought it would be a good idea to support an organisation that was local to my family which we could also visit and know that we are helping in some small way.

It is a trust dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of birds of prey (raptors) I am a falconer ( well Austringer actually, hawks not falcons) so this is very close to my heart.

Thanks for that, sounds really interesting. Do you often find birds of prey in distress?

Now that is a question as for the feathered kind, yes the odd Sparrowhawk that has hit a window or a lost falcon. It is still, for me, hard to believe the number of birds of prey that are shot, most though are road injuries. Last summer we found a Buzzard that had injured its wing (car accident) I caught it but hadn't room in the car to take it to a centre or vet, a car stopped to help and I needed something to strap the birds wings together to help it settle, after searching for a while the lady passenger removed her bra and said will this do? The bird made a good recovery, I'm not so sure about me

I've joined the Surrey Wildlife Trust today. This is the first time I've joined anything like this but am hoping to learn quite a bit from them and would like to get some bee identification leaflets etc. Does anyone else belong to a wildlife trust?
There are a series of laminated charts and I'm sure one of them is a Bee ID chart. Try the link below

Your local trust shop may have it.

We are in the Warwickshire Wildlife Trust. However, we have not had time to go to any event or to even walk in their areas yet. But as spring/summer kick in, will be ideal to take our little one for strolls!
So am I and regularly go to Whitacre Heath and Brandon Marsh. I'm also in the Butterfly conservation trust ... I don't grow cabbages anymore

I agree the FSC Publications are the best, all the pros have them.

(i'll rephrase that, experts use them)
