  • What bird could this be?

I don't know much about birds but I seem to have some nesting in my guttering over the down pipe. From what I can tell, the adult has a beige coloured body with a dark brown head and made quite a noise while it was standing on the roof tiles. The same species of bird built a nest there last year. What type of bird is it likely to be?

    Could it be a sparrow?
One nested in our guttering a few years ago.

Hmmm I thought sparrows had flecked wings whereas this bird had an even colouring all over except the head but as I don't know the different varieties of sparrow you may be right!

        Could be a female sparrow.

Take a look at this site for help identifying... The RSPB: Bird identifier

they do like nesting in guttering/under roof tiles, we had some, then we had a downpour and one got washed down the drain pipe, luckily for the birdie we had a cover over the drain so i managed to rescue it and put it back in the guttering

We get starlings in the eaves every year, right next to our bedroom window They're very noisy, but worth it!
