Check out this poor little guy in the pic

The Daily Mail have an article on their site about this little youngin who got into a sticky predicament with a glass jar.

I expect the jar was buried in the ground with some bait inside as a slug trap, although they don't mention that in the article.

Personally I would have called environmental health, just as if I'd found a load of rats, and insisted they destroy them.

I think you'd have to be particularly hard hearted to allow a baby animal to suffer in that way though.

I no longer use beer traps because of the amount of (good) spiders and ground beetles that drown in them.

Hmm, rats, slugs and pigeons are wildlife too, but one's a garden pest and two are officially vermin.
