  • Vicously attacked

Was trying to hack down a ginockerous honeysuckle plant which is threatening to engulf my garage when I spied a birds nest. Being quite a softy, I stopped, thinking I would have a look to see if it had tenants, if so I would leave the task till after they had flown the nest.
Clearly I didnt stop quite quick enough for Mme la blackbird, who flew from her nest in a right strop, dive bombing me and screaming very loudly.
I hadnt seen her initially, so she made me jump when she flew right at me, then she made me smile with her continued assault as I retreated back to the safety of my house.
Will have to keep an eye out now for fallen fledgelings.
    'Twas nice to see though.

There's been a really vicious pigeon protecting her nest in a tree just by our plot!
When our neighbour warned me about it I thought he was pulling my leg.....until I was dive bombed myself whilst popping my bags down!....having spent the last week or so dealing with a stroppy broody hen,I should have known how protective they get,but really wasn't expecting a pigeon to fly out at me like that!....you have my true sympathies Bob...although not sure that a stroppy Blackbird is quite as scarey as a stroppy pigeon!
the fates lead him who will;him who won't they drag.
