  • What's this?

As the title says - I've a fair idea but just want some confirmation. It was in the "wildlife" area of my garden.

Definately a newt - most likely a female smooth newt. The underbelly would be blotched with orangey patches.

Having just looked at my little book of wildlife, I would say newt too.

My thought was a female common (smooth) newt. We do get lizards here but sure that was an amphibian not a reptile.

The back toes on our newts are slightly webbed, this one doesn't appear to be,without flipping it over,I'd go for a lizard.

If it was very small it would be Mynewt.

Why? It's only a tiny little soft skinned newt, not a fire breathing dragon. It's alot more scared of you, I promise you.
