When I was at school we had a teacher who just loved nature. He'd bring in frogs, toads, salamanders and newts for us to see and handle. It was great. Not only did we have a greater understanding and appriciation for them, we overcame any fears we had.
A good beginning is half the work.
Praise the young and they will make progress.

Just found a slow worm down there tonight - looks like the plan is coming together now. Baby Srodders will have lots of exploring when she is older.

Had to rescue a slow worm from the beak of one of my girls... they were all chasing her around the garden so she never had chance to do it any damage thankfully
Never test the depth of the water with both feet

The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory....

Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.

omg a slow worm is worse than a lizard!!! .. i'm, semi-phobic about snakes or anything that slightly resembles a snake, like a slow worm!! think i should give up gardening right now
