  • Poorly bee

We just found a poorly bee, it was just laying on the pavement and looking like it was rubbing itself OH moved it into the lavender as we had no idea what to do! Not sure if it had a leg thing missing I've never been that near one before so it was nice to see it up close, just a shame it was poorly

I wonder if it had stung something and was dying???

did it have lots of tiny mites behind it's head????

Glad you were able to help it

Quite often they get too heavy to fly with pollen ( i have also been told they get drunk on the nectar in the plant), and you find them on the floor looking like they are dieing, they tend to rub themselves to knock pollen off, i also get them in the growroom with the lamps, full of pollen and very dry due to the heat, i just move them somewere onto a plant outside , out of direct sun and they recover and fly off sometime later.

I found a dead bee today, just on the back gardens lawn.
Darker than I have noticed before, just one orange ring to its rear.

        Red tailed bumble bee.
