It's so exciting this year, the first I've had a garden and been able to get out in it (last year the chemo made my skin extremely sensitive to the sun so I couldn't go out. At all). After years of living in a big city, it's lovely.
On the weekend, I saw what I thought was a very large bee. It was in fact two bees sharing some bee loving. This is good though, right..good for bee populations. We get quite a few bees around the garden, particularly now that things have started to flower.
Today, as I was moving a bag of compost, I spotted two baby lizards..awww. They were very slow, and I managed to touch them (with gloves on)...probably because it was in the shade and they hadn't warmed up yet. Hope they eat lots of nasty bugs and slugs for me! They've gone off to live in the lavender bushes now. Bless.
Is there anything more I can be doing to encourage the good wee beasties who'll eat the pests?
