Would a badger eat bird seed? We have a ground feeding bird table which is covered over with a mesh box. As we have it on the garden path we don't peg it down and it's been very succesful at letting smaller birds feed but protecting most of the food from the crows and jackdaws. they do push their heads through the cage sometimes to reach a few bits and if they lean hard can budge the cover along a bit to reach further but that's all.
A couple of times over the last week the cover has been pushed off completely - as in tipped right over and off the table and the seed table has been cleared completely.
I really can't think what could or would do this? We think we had a badger visit the garden a year or so ago because there was a huge hole dug in the wall where a bees nest was.
