  • Swifts,summer really is here

We have 3 swifts in the village, which we had none of last year, lots of painted lady butterflies, which again we had none last year.Might have missed spring with no cuckoos, but summer seems to have arrived, just hope it lasts more than a few days.

I saw my 1st ever painted lady butterflies this year, I always thought they where tatty tortishells butterflies, but now I know what they are.

Amazing to think they fly from North Africa just to be here.

We've had swifts for around 5 weeks maybe more, we can sit in the back garden watching them on a night, then we have a mix of swifts and bats, when the swift's go to bed, we watch the bats, it's really nice
