......is Boogie.
Boogie is a 14 week old Barn Owl. Her egg was hatched in an incubator and the DD has hand-reared Boogie and her sister, Inca. The first picture is Boogs & Inca at about 5 weeks. The second & third show the 'ugly duckling' turned into a beautiful owl. Another very cuddly owl too.
Sadly this morning, they arrived at the falconry to find an older Barn owl, Dudley, had been savagely killed by one of the Harris hawks when she escaped her avery overnight into the adjoining avery. DD was really upset and deeply shocked.
No idea why this thread got moved here - Tundra is still in General Chit Chat. I'm not sure Boogs qualifies for Wild Life Gardening...she's tame as can be. "Share your experiences and tips on attracting beneficial wildlife" not quite - I didn't attract Boogs to the garden.
