When I fond my first one ever here I goooogled it and loved how it had been named!

I’ve got the blues!! Holly blues that is. I haven’t seen one ever before and now there are lots of them fluttering about a holly hedge which is in flower.
I’m so pleased. My neighbour must think I’m nuts standing smiling at a hedge.
They aren’t very common here in Northern Ireland so it’s an honour to have them in my garden.

unknown grubs

I grow some of my strawberries in vertical hanging pouches along a fence. this morning I was refreshing them ready for this years fruiting when I came across these little beggars, freshly hatched as some still have fragments of egg casing.

Definitely vine weevil. Far from recently hatched, some already changing to adult.

Robins love them. I'd dump compost in compost bin. Wash roots and replant with fresh compost. As edibles nematodes might clear them.

Any close plants got notched leaves? This is sign of adults. If decorative spray them with a systemic.

Vine weevils love strawberries.
Even if you wash the roots I would be tempted to use nematodes.
I had them in strawberry containers and the nematodes worked well.
Damned expensive though.

Went for a family stroll over the common. My youngest liked the soldier beetles the most. Bless her, everything there was and she could have just gone in the garden

Sorry NG your pheasant is a goose! Probably a greylag, but can't be 100%.
