  • Last year the flowers on our Fatsia were wiped out by a severe frost so this is the first time we've seen it properly in bloom. It's been attracting loads of flies, bees, wasps hover flies and even ladybirds, but today I spotted a Red Admiral

    I really like the head photo. Here's a close-up

    • Well my camera skills are appalling at the best of times - a pity at a time when this visitor insisted on posing so nicely for me!

He was literally only feet away from me by the back door.
ETA Can anyone tell me if they think this is a dog fox or a vixen? I would love to have baby foxes in the garden but I suspect the cats will have different ideas!

        Jeanied, these are fab photos.

I'd been waiting to see them, but hadn't seen them posted. I usually use the What's New button so not sure why I hadn't spotted your post.
Whether you think you can or whether you think you can't, you are probably right.

Lovely photos Jeanie and according to Mr Pots the fox is either very well fed or pregnant.

          • Thank you, Singleseeder! I can see I will need to set up a tripod and a camera for this fox, because it has been in my garden on a regular basis for a while - so pretty! It will only get better as the winter progresses I am sure!
Oooh - exciting Bren - my garden is so small this could yield some really interesting photos/ footage!

              • No chooks for a few miles round here - plus a railway line, motorway and canal! This fox is on leftovers and the odd rat/ mouse!
