  • Can you put some paper or a cloth over the outside of the window to stop the reflections?

    • It's worth trying all sorts of distractions like streamers/cds/picture of a preditor. We had a black bird who would do this every year for what I assume were the 4 years of its life. The only thing that ever stopped it was to put a feed bag over the window on the outsdie like VC suggets.

PS. I just don't have enough time to say hello to everyone as they join so please take this as a delighted to see you here!

      • We had a wagtail that attacked its reflection in the house windows and the car windows/mirrors. Made a right mess and exhausted the bird. We ended up having to put a tarp over the car and shut all the shutters on the windows.
MrPP also had a frenzied day of chasing it away which was ineffective but hilarious to watch.

        • I have seen a wagtail before relentlessly attacking its reflection in a car mirror. There's a lot of windows in our room Im not sure I can really cover them all. I might try putting a drawing of a magpie in the window though. And some distractions to put him off.

Thank you all, i'll let you know what happens.

                • I wouldn't mind but the pond's no bigger than about 6' in any direction. And they've got a grass snake (assuming the ducks haven't scared it off). Terribly unfair.

Similar to a photo I took this week! Not as many as yours. They were on my very old pear tree, it is time for it to come down but I love the look of the old gnarled bark

                          • A baby starling peeping out at the world. I think he looks a bit worried. They fledged this evening so I hope they survive. I'll miss their loud chirping!
