    These 5 cygnets hatched on Thursday, and are swimming already with mum and dad.

                              • This probably doesn't count as wildlife gardening but consider it wildlife building management. I never take old nests down and the swallows have repaired and reused this one for at least two seasons already but this year they have squatters.



                                How awesome is it to have a Jenny nesting like this? I can see and hear the babies and the parents are gradually coming to be less and less bothered if I'm in there.

                                Also for all you that miss it, the cuckoos (2 or 3 at least) have been leading the dawn chorus here for many a week now.

                                Swallows have started from scratch in the next door barn but boy are they cross.
