        • Has anybody got one of those camera trap devices like you see on nature programmes?

I've just seen this one advertised for sale from Notts Wildlife Trust:

There are a few grapes have Trail Cams, I had one but returned it as it started having a mind of its own and was taking pics every 10 seconds.I didn't bother replacing it. You can pick them up off eb4y & Am4zon for around £60.

            • A swallow tail butterfly caterpillar feasting on the carrots. I will leave it be, they only come in 'ones' and don't do much damage.

Also I am re posting the pictures of the Wryneck that I posted on the wrong thread.

                  • So far it's been quite a disappointing year for butterflies here...and then suddenly today they've arrived! There were at least a dozen on my buddleia - peacock, red admiral, and painted lady. Also saw a few speckled woods which wouldn't pose for photos.

                    • I've never seen one but I've heard on good authority that there are wild otters close to where I live now. They only come out at night though.other than that the place is always full of kingfishers which are far too fast to get a photo!

                        • Oh well the buddleia flowers are all gone now but the tortoiseshells are still about. It is lovely to see more going on in the garden compared to three years ago, means I must be doing something right.

                          • Can't remember the last time I saw a butterfly and then lo and behold yesterday brings not one but two in the garden...at the same time? I may be wrong but think they are a painted lady and a red admiral. Someone who knows better could put me right! such a lovely sight!

                              • I noticed three ladybird nymphs on my nasturtium just now, they're really tiny at the moment, their bodies are just a little bit longer than the aphids.
