A couple more birds of prey pics. One of a kestrel eating a worm in my driveway, and of course, the obligatory arty shot of one hovering.

OH found this chap being battered about by the strong winds we had here in the Auvergne. He spent the night in the annexe and we let him go this morning with a little sugar water.
Huge monster! Giant Peacock Moth - Wingspan is about 14cm - 4 and a half inches!
Sitting on a small blueberry bush for reference.Attached FilesA garden is a lovesome thing, God wot! (Thomas Edward Brown)

Six spot burnet moth on the chives.
The herb bed was one of the things that was victim of my getting Lyme Disease and is now completely full of buttercups, bindweed and brambles with only the chives and some mint (of course) fighting their way into the light. Hopefully I'll be strong enough to tackle it soon, assuming the house hasn't been swallowed by then!
But the wildlife likes it untidy I noticed this small bush cricket, too.
