  • This morning it's the turn of the chaffinch. He doesn't like using the feeders. He prefers to sit on the top of my old coal bunker and wait for me to put him some treats out. He's getting very tame, and will sit there about a yard away while I scatter stuff about. His favourite (and a great many others too), is crumbled up custard cream biscuits.

          • I think goldfinch are onre of the nicest looking birds about, but unfortunatley, I don't get them in the garden much these days. Same for greenfinch. Don't know why.

            • I saw a greenfinch today, first one in ages and we used to have loads of them. There is a fatal infection that seems to be wiping them out, it lives on feeders so now I make sure to wash my feeders every few months as that's supposed to keep it at bay.

              • I only managed a poor pic of a greenfinch. The res on the camera was set too low, so it wouldn't stand much blowing up.

The second pic is of 3 tits together,Great, Coal and blue.

                • Found this little fella in the front garden, in the trench for the breeze blocks. Rescued him to the back, where there are lots of lovely slugs and snails for him to eat. (I hope he is hungry)

                          • I spotted this butterfly today, it's so lovely but it wouldn't open it's wings for me no matter how nicely I asked! Haha!

                            • A copper I think. I find butterflies hard to get a good photo of. By the time you get near enough and get things set up, they sling their hooks!
