We live within chucking distance of the Clyde burnie! I assume that's where he came from?

      • I have a bird feeder on my window, which is about 8m off the ground. Recently I have small groups of these parakeets visiting - they are loud, they are very funny to watch and they walk up and down the windowsill, perch on the window handles and the open windows and try and figure out what the hell glass is. I've lived with them flying about for nearly 15 years, but not had them coming this close or being this confident before.

                          • First chance to see a convolvulus hawk moth, a long time coming considering how much of the stuff there is in my garden!

The moth was being attacked by a European hornet and after much buzzing and flapping (I thought it was a small bird at first) the moth was subdued enough for the hornet to start eating it.

MrPP took this quick picture of it before the hornet returned - or a few mates - and after half an hour all that was left was the wings.
