  • I heard the grass warblers today, now I know what they are couldn't see any though.

                        I heard my first Grasshopper Warbler (or Gropper as us birders call them ) on Monday 25th April at East Chevington Nature Reserve. I always think they sound like a fishing reel

                          • Love the name gropper. We have loads now I know what I'm hearing , always in this sort of area, old ground , peaty long grasses.

                                Ah yes, that ones quite rare, the dark woofbler , not as secretive as the grass ones
