Has anybody got one of those camera trap devices like you see on nature programmes?
I've just seen this one advertised for sale from Notts Wildlife Trust:

A swallow tail butterfly caterpillar feasting on the carrots. I will leave it be, they only come in 'ones' and don't do much damage.

Shame there's not a 'biggest slug' category in the VVS!Attached Files~~~ Gardening is medicine that does not need

So far it's been quite a disappointing year for butterflies here...and then suddenly today they've arrived! There were at least a dozen on my buddleia - peacock, red admiral, and painted lady. Also saw a few speckled woods which wouldn't pose for photos.

Oh well the buddleia flowers are all gone now but the tortoiseshells are still about. It is lovely to see more going on in the garden compared to three years ago, means I must be doing something right.

Can't remember the last time I saw a butterfly and then lo and behold yesterday brings not one but two in the garden...at the same time? I may be wrong but think they are a painted lady and a red admiral. Someone who knows better could put me right! such a lovely sight!
