Looks like northern knapweed to me.

It's a garden flower not a wild one, previous owner worked on the council gardens and brought all sorts home.

Just checked with mine. It's a perennial cornflower, Centaurea.

Flo is back

Although this morning for the first 20mins she was very nervous? ... I asked her who had been spooking her and of course she didn't reply!
I then moved down to the veg garden to weed and she soon found her feet (in amongst mine) and 'stuffed' herself full of grubs and caterpillars that were falling from the plants.

This beautiful butterfly stayed in my garden for hours today. Mainly visiting the flowers of a white dahlia I grew from seed.
