I had an afternoon rock pooling. These fantastic little hermit crabs, kept me entertained for ages. Fascinating little things.

A little newt has taken up residence in the dogs veggie garden water dish. I’ve added a couple of rocks so he can get out when he wants too.

Meant to post this earlier. Found a young Goldcrest sheltering on a windowsill while in Argyll last month.

These 2 were a surprise last Sunday morning while we were taking the windows out of the honesty shop.

pictures are not top quality as I am practising manual focussing and clearly I need to practise some more lol

Why manual focussing? Years ago it was needed when photographing through windows, but now it seems to work through glass. You'll need nail the birds down!

2 reasons Danny, some animals and birds are sensitive to the infra red that is used by the auto mechanism and scarper when you aim at them. Also when in dense cover the auto focuses on the first thing it sees, often thin branches, so manual is the way to go, nice to keep your hand in too. Fast moving objects are still taken in auto.
