Chicken law

One of the members on our self-managed alltoment site wants to keep chickens and before we approach the local authority to ask what the rules say, we want to find out other people's experiences in getting permission. So far nobody has kept chickens on our site.

Any information would be helpful.

How many members on your site? Is there anything in your rules about keeping poultry?

There is a thread on here which relates to the allotment act which apparently states clearly that no council can enforce allotment members from keeping chickens. Best of luck.

I think that unless local bylaws state that chooks cannot be kept - you can!
